McPherson: Bruno’s Wood Fired Pizzeria

I finally talked Boss Man into trying Amic’s Mediterranean Cafe! I had a sinking feeling as we turned North on Main Street in McPherson…..a quick Google search revealed the sad truth…Amic’s is no more…the building was now Bruno’s Wood Fired Pizzeria–Boss Man’s favorite food…

We unloaded the girls and I reluctantly grabbed my camera…

I say reluctantly because Fi was still in her Pajama’s..sick with an ear infection…

and I knew my photographic desires would not be met…Mama’s intuition proved correct.

But we did eat Pizza…Kyle the owner prepares every pizza by hand…he tossed a pizza dough with-in inches of the ceiling…did I get a picture to prove it…no.

He used this gigantic curved knife to slice the pizza…did I get a picture…no

Yes, people, that is a Caprese Salad in Central Kansas! Yum!

He had his dog spread the sauce with a gloved paw…did I get a picture…ok the dog, named Bruno, was not at the pizzeria. ¬†But there were several photos of the loveable chocolate lab…

but we were there for pizza…

and did I get a photo of the pizza worth sharing…not really but I will share what I have…

Boss Man created his own with red sauce and  pepperoni

The girls and I ordered a greek pizza with olive, artichokes and pesto sauce…My taste buds were still anticipating Amic’s greek flavor.

We already know what we want to try on our next visit…yes, it is worth a one hour drive for pizza…The crust was delicious…chewy and soft and crispy and flavorful..and I want to try the olive oil sauce and BBQ sauce…maybe next time I will catch a shot of the pizza dough throwing skills!
